1. Who we are
clipscoutlistlantern.com is operated by Lantern Scout Media Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14872306, with its registered office at 27 Bellhouse Yard, Suite 4, Manchester M1 5TW, United Kingdom. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Lantern Scout Media Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through this website.
2. What data we collect
We collect only what we need to run the site and reply to enquiries:
- Information you provide. When you submit the contact form we collect your name, email address, company name (optional), the enquiry topic you select and the content of your message.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider records server logs containing your IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer and timestamp. These logs support security and fault diagnosis.
- Usage data. If you consent to analytics cookies, we collect aggregated, pseudonymised information about pages viewed, time on page, approximate region derived from a truncated IP address, and device category.
- Preference data. Your cookie consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage so that we do not repeat the banner on every page.
We do not knowingly collect special category data, and we do not collect personal data from children under 16. We do not sell personal data, and we do not operate advertising or cross-site tracking.
3. Why we process it, and our lawful bases
- Responding to enquiries — legitimate interests, or performance of a contract where you have asked us to provide services.
- Site security, fraud prevention and abuse mitigation — legitimate interests.
- Analytics and functional cookies — your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
- Meeting legal, accounting and regulatory obligations — compliance with a legal obligation.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We set a small number of cookies and local storage entries. Essential entries record your consent decision and protect form submissions. Analytics and functional cookies are only set after you select "Accept All". A full table of names, purposes and durations, together with browser-level opt-out instructions, appears in our Cookie Policy.
5. Third-party processors
We keep our supplier list deliberately short. The processors we currently use are:
| Processor | Purpose | Data location |
|---|---|---|
| Static hosting and CDN provider | Serving the website; access logs | EU / UK edge locations |
| Privacy-focused analytics provider | Aggregated page metrics (consent only) | European Union |
| Business email provider | Receiving and storing enquiry correspondence | European Union |
| Accounting and records software | Invoicing and statutory record keeping | United Kingdom |
Each processor is engaged under a written agreement meeting Article 28 UK GDPR requirements. Where a transfer outside the UK or EEA is unavoidable, we rely on adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, supported by a transfer risk assessment.
6. Retention
Contact form correspondence is retained for 24 months from our final reply, then deleted, unless it forms part of a client engagement in which case it is retained for six years to meet UK accounting and limitation requirements. Server logs are retained for 30 days. Aggregated analytics are retained for 14 months. Consent records are retained for 12 months, after which the banner will ask you again.
7. Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EEA you have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making; we do not carry out any.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising (we do not engage in this), to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may use an authorised agent to make a request.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days for UK and EU requests and within 45 days for CCPA requests. We may ask for information to verify your identity, used solely for that purpose.
8. Data protection contact and complaints
Our data protection lead can be reached at [email protected] or by post at Data Protection, Lantern Scout Media Ltd, 27 Bellhouse Yard, Suite 4, Manchester M1 5TW, United Kingdom. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority in the EEA.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS with modern TLS. Access to the mailbox and hosting console is restricted to named individuals with multi-factor authentication. We review access rights quarterly and keep no payment card data on our systems.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our processing or the law. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes affecting your rights will be highlighted on the home page for at least 30 days.
